Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Richmond Hill's 12th in Last 15 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Richmond Hill rose to the challenge on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Mill Creek Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-8 on Monday.

A Williams spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lily Welch, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kainani Auld, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Richmond Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mill Creek only posted a batting average of .143.

Richmond Hill is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mill Creek, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11.

As of now, neither Richmond Hill nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
