Baseball Recap: Newton Rams vs. Eastside Eagles
While Newton put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Eastside. The Newton Rams didn't even let the Eastside Eagles on the board, marking the Newton Rams' second-straight 15-0 shutout. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 8-6 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.
Chris Guillory made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Guillory was also big at the plate, going a perfect4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Jayce Yearwood was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kendall Turner was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
