Basketball Game Preview: Rancho Verde Mustangs vs. Canyon Springs Cougars

Rancho Verde and Canyon Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Rancho Verde Mustangs will be playing at home against the Canyon Springs Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Rancho Verde is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Thursday, they were much more limited against Hemet on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Bulldogs, falling 52-23. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Canyon Springs didn't have too much trouble with Liberty on Tuesday as they won 35-18. The 35-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Canyon Springs has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. As for Rancho Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
