Softball Recap: Lamar's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lamar won the last time they faced Pueblo East and things went their way on Friday too. The Thunder came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Thunder sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Carlin Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexa Aguilar, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Khloe Fernandez, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Lamar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Lamar now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pueblo East, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Lamar will take on La Junta at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Thunder's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Pueblo East, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Falcon on the 5th.
