Soccer Game Preview: Kaiser vs. San Gorgonio

The Kaiser Cats will head out to square off against the San Gorgonio Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kaiser's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Saturday, Kaiser came up short against Summit and fell 3-1. Melissa Medina was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Kaiser's goal came courtesy of Natalie Ramirez, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, San Gorgonio narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Arroyo Valley 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

San Gorgonio used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Arroyo Valley. Leah Gonzales played for 60 minutes having averaged 31.7 this season and Darlyn Garcia got 80 vs. an average of 50. Garcia made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Kaiser's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-2. As for San Gorgonio, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2-1.

Kaiser might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from San Gorgonio in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Kaiser avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
