Basketball Recap: Clovis North Comes Up Short

Clovis North lost against El Capitan back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Clovis North Broncos fell just short of the El Capitan Vaqueros by a score of 56-53. The Broncos' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Capitan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keira Heinricy, who posted 19 points along with seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Worthem, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Clovis North's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for El Capitan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Clovis North will take on San Marcos in a tournament on Monday. As for El Capitan, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rocklin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. El Capitan will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
