Soccer Game Preview: Arleta vs. Monroe

The Arleta Mustangs will square off against the Monroe Vikings at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Arleta's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Arleta and North Hollywood have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Mustangs lost 5-0 to the Huskies. While losing is never fun, Arleta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1005th, while North Hollywood are ranked 166th).

Meanwhile, Monroe fell victim to Verdugo Hills and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dons.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-2. As for Arleta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-1.
