Baseball Recap: Temple Comes Up Short

Temple extended their losing streak to 11 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-23 in the process. They came up short against the Pepperell Dragons, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 on Tuesday.

Temple saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micah Caldwell, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Pepperell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. Considering they have won 17 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Pepperell's side, they let Madoc Garcia and Sam Ross run wild. Garcia went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Ross went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Garcia has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was JP Kilgo, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pepperell beat Temple by a score of 11-0 later that day.
