Milpitas took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Piedmont Hills with a sharp 48-25 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Trojans have posted against the Pirates since December 28, 2016.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 55-41 bruising from St. Mary's. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 14 points.

Milpitas' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Los Gatos, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Things could have been worse for Milpitas, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-41 loss to Los Gatos in their previous matchup back in February of 2017.
