Softball Recap: Rock Canyon Has No Trouble Against Coronado

It was a proper cat-fight when Rock Canyon duked it out with Coronado on Saturday. The Jaguars blew past the Cougars 15-5.

Cadence Laferriere made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Laferriere was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lyric Miller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dakota Dugan, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Rock Canyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coronado only posted an OBP of .412.

The win got Rock Canyon back to even at 2-2. As for Coronado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Rock Canyon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-6 victory against Pueblo South on the 23rd. As for Coronado, they have also already played their next match, a 17-2 defeat against Vista Ridge on the 23rd.
