Elbert County won against Lincoln County last Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers stepped up to hand the Clarke Central Gladiators a 6-0 shutout. The Blue Devils not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2025 (when they won 12-6).

Brock Dye tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cheyvis Mclendon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Ingram, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Elbert County back to even at 2-2. As for Clarke Central, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Elbert County will host Hart County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clarke Central, they will head out to square off against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
