Softball Recap: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Cedaredge Bruins

Moffat County had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Cedaredge Bruins, falling 21-0. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Bruins when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Moffat County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aida Harrell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

As for Cedaredge, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On Cedaredge's side, Tia Homedew made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Homedew has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten games.

In other batting news, Kiera Stroh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Meri Hollembeak, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cedaredge beat Moffat County by a score of 23-3 later that day.
