Football Recap: Gavin Mitchell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Seaman

Basehor-Linwood had won four straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 7-0 to make it five. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over the Seaman Vikings. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 28-14 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Basehor-Linwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Mitchell, who rushed for 98 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Peter Rodriquez helped out on the ground, rushing for 118 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Basehor-Linwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

As for Seaman, they now have a losing record of 3-4. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Seaman lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cale Ketter, who threw for 390 yards and five TDs. Seaman is 3-1 when Ketter posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Coy Barta was Ketter's top target, picking up 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
