Soccer Recap: Sanger West Takes a Loss

After flying high against Strathmore last Thursday, Sanger West came back down to earth. The Sanger West Hornets came up short against the Selma Bears on Tuesday, falling 5-1. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in December of 2022.

Sanger West's goal came courtesy of Isabella Cisneros, who's now up to eight this season.

Sanger West now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Selma, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-3.

Sanger West will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Reedley at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Reedley's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Selma, they will take on Kerman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kerman will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Selma surely won't give up without a fight.
