Softball Recap: Fairview Has No Trouble Against Boulder

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Horizon, Fairview was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Boulder Panthers as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 15 runs or more this season.

Grace McCall made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. McCall was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI.

In other batting news, Julia Savage was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Payton Cowin, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped Fairview's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-5 record. As for Boulder, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Fairview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-11 win against Niwot on the 9th. As for Boulder, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-2 loss against Mountain Range on the 9th.
