Basketball Game Preview: Fairbury Jeffs vs. Raymond Central Mustangs

Fairbury is 0-4 against Raymond Central since December of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Jeffs will face off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Fairbury was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-30 to Auburn.

Meanwhile, Raymond Central had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 59-34 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Raymond Central's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Fairbury, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Fairbury took a serious blow against Raymond Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, falling 70-28. Can the Jeffs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
