Soccer Game Preview: Laguna Creek vs. Pleasant Grove

Laguna Creek is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Franklin on Wednesday. Laguna Creek lost 3-0 to Franklin. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Elk Grove 2-1. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Thundering Herd are ranked 810th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Adalynn Alley was the driving force of Pleasant Grove's attack as she scored both of Pleasant Grove's goals, bringing her season total up to seven goals.

Pleasant Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. As for Laguna Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3-3.

Laguna Creek came up short against Pleasant Grove in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Laguna Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
