Soccer Recap: Smidt Tech's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Smidt Tech can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lakeview Charter Lions by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Grey Wolves were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the five games prior), but the Lions' defense proved too tough.

Smidt Tech's goal came courtesy of Jasmine Salgado, who's now up to 29 this season.

With the defeat, Smidt Tech broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those five contests. As for Lakeview Charter, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Smidt Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeview Charter, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 loss against Fremont on the 24th.
