Soccer Game Preview: La Mirada vs. Katella

The La Mirada Matadores and the Katella Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

La Mirada headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Gahr let them put that streak behind them. The Matadores' defense stepped up to hand the Gladiators a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for La Mirada in their matchups with Gahr: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Katella made easy work of El Modena on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for Katella, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit El Modena with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gabriela Whitehouse, Kiana Torres, and Karen Nazario.

Katella's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for La Mirada, their win bumped their record up to 2-3-2.
