Baseball Recap: Gilmer Comes Up Short

Gilmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Generals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 last Tuesday.

Gilmer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Heritage, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Gilmer Bobcats face off against Adairsville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Ridgeland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
