Baseball Recap: Jackson County Comes Up Short

Jackson County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Winder-Barrow on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldoggs by a score of 9-8.

Jackson County got a good showing from Charlie Crowe, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Crowe a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jackson County got a big performance out of Carson Stokes, who scored two runs and stole a base. Colin Price was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

Jackson County's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Winder-Barrow, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

While Jackson County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
