Basketball Recap: Kelsey Lehmann Key Part of Team Effort in Gauchos Win + How To Watch

Casa Grande's tournament run continued when they took on St. Helena on Saturday. The Gauchos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 victory over the Saints.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Casa Grande to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelsey Lehmann, who posted 13 points and six rebounds. Nizhoni Salazar was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to nine boards and four blocks.

Casa Grande smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

The win got Casa Grande back to even at 3-3. As for St. Helena, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Casa Grande will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th. The Vikings have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for St. Helena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clear Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Saints' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
