Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots vs. Cornerstone Christian Cougars

The St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots will head out to square off against the Cornerstone Christian Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. Joseph Notre Dame came up short against Head-Royce on Friday, falling 57-37. The Pilots have struggled against the Jayhawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Owls with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Owls are ranked 1183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cornerstone Christian has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for St. Joseph Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

St. Joseph Notre Dame was taken down by Cornerstone Christian 85-58 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point St. Joseph Notre Dame was down 44-17.
