Basketball Game Preview: Norfolk Panthers vs. Lincoln Northeast Rockets + How To Watch

The Norfolk Panthers will square off against the Lincoln Northeast Rockets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Norfolk is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Marian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers took a blow against the Crusaders, falling 65-31. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Maddilyn Finneran, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Peterson, who put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Lincoln Northeast over Blue Springs in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The Rockets enjoyed a cozy 57-39 victory over the Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Lincoln Northeast found their leader in sophomore Brynna Renard, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Renard is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alijah Stabler, who scored 15 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Norfolk now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lincoln Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Norfolk beat Lincoln Northeast 46-33 in their previous meeting back in January. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
