Softball Recap: Falcon Takes a Loss

Falcon extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-3. They lost 13-1 to the Frederick Golden Eagles. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Michelle Morales was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

As for Frederick, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.

On Frederick's side, Ella Stromberg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Stromberg a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lyla Kuhn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Falcon will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lamar at 1:45 p.m. on September 5. As for Frederick, they will head out to take on Legacy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lightning have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
