Baseball Recap: Luther Prep Victorious

Luther Prep took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against University School of Milwaukee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Phoenix won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Phoenix have posted since April 4, 2025.

Brice Gosch was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Luther Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was JT Candler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Luther Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for University School of Milwaukee, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Luther Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
