Preview: Torres Toros vs. Elizabeth Bulldogs
Torres is 8-2 against Elizabeth since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Torres Toros will be playing at home against the Elizabeth Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Torres suffered their biggest loss since December 18, 2023 on Wednesday. Their rough 49-27 loss to Maywood CES might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Torres in their matchups with Maywood CES: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 49-10 defeat at the hands of Marquez. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elizabeth has scored all season.
Torres has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Elizabeth, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Torres didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Elizabeth in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 34-30 win. Does Torres have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elizabeth turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
