El Monte waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 victory over the South El Monte Eagles. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 40-19 defeat the last time these two teams met.
El Monte had a senior duo take command as Aaron Rivera rushed for 161 yards while picking up 8.9 yards per carry and Alex Aleman threw for 190 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.
