Basketball Game Preview: Wood Wildcats vs. Vacaville Bulldogs

Wood is 10-0 against Vacaville since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Wood Wildcats will head out to face off against the Vacaville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Wood was able to grind out a solid victory over Pioneer, taking the game 47-38.

Amiyah Murry was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Nateyah Ebuen, who posted 12 points and eight boards.

Wood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Vacaville had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 50-40 win over River City on Tuesday.

Vacaville's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-10. As for Wood, their record is now 10-11.

Wood strolled past Vacaville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 42-27. Will Wood repeat their success, or does Vacaville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
