Soccer Recap: Mira Loma Comes Up Short

The Mira Loma Matadors lost 5-1 to the Lincoln Fighting Zebras on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 703rd, while the Fighting Zebras are ranked 185th).

Mira Loma's goal came courtesy of Isabella Lizarde Torres, who's now up to five this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Mira Loma and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Lincoln, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Mira Loma wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Colfax on the 14th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Oakmont on the 14th.
