Volleyball Recap: Memorial Day Comes Up Short

Memorial Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Savannah Bluejackets.

Memorial Day actually scored more points across those five sets (109-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 15-13.

Memorial Day's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Savannah, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial Day will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Coastal HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Savannah, they will head out to take on Brantley County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
