Soccer Recap: Gatewood Comes Up Short

Gatewood scored the most goals they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Piedmont Academy Cougars by a score of 4-3. Gatewood's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

JT Gregory and Calvin Leeper scored all three of Gatewood's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Gatewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Piedmont Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5-1 record.

Gatewood wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Westminster Christian Academy on the 18th. As for Piedmont Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against John Milledge Academy on the 18th.
