Reigning MaxPreps National Player of the Year makes his college decision.

It's been a quite a ride for Kyler Murray over the last six months.

In December, he led Allen to its second consecutive Class 5A-I state title. Weeks later, he took home MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors.

Now, the impressive dual-threat quarterback has secured his college plans, announcing his commitment to Texas A&M.

Murray, the No. 23 recruit overall and No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the 247Composite, selected the Aggies over his other finalist, Oregon.

After stepping into the starting role midway through the season as a sophomore, Murray flourished as a junior, throwing for 3,248 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 1,230 yards and an additional 17 scores.

He led a furious comeback against DeSoto in the Class 5A-I semifinals that helped him earn the MaxPreps Player of the Year award.

It should be another big year for Murray, as he returns for his senior season alongside an impressive group of starters that includes Notre Dame wide receiver commit Jalen Guyton and lineman Bobby Evans, an Oklahoma commit.

Murray spent the spring serving as one of the top players on Allen's baseball team.

A second baseman with power, Murray reportedly will pursue playing both baseball and football at the next level.
