Basketball Recap: Englewood Takes a Loss

Englewood lost against Sandalwood back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Englewood Rams lost to the Sandalwood Saints on the road by a 47-33 margin. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Englewood still got an impressive performance from Vincent Witherspoon, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points. Witherspoon has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Mitchell, who posted six points.

Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Sandalwood, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-14.

Englewood will take on Christ's Church Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ's Church Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Englewood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sandalwood, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against University Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
