Baseball Recap: Miller County Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Miller County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 14-1 to the Lake Oconee Academy Titans on Tuesday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pirates, who until this game were averaging 3.52 runs allowed.

Miller County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Cook, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Miller County's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Lake Oconee Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8.

While Miller County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
