Baseball Recap: Screven County Takes a Loss

Screven County extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 16-10 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burke County Bears. The Gamecocks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

As for Burke County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

For Burke County's part, Sam Kyzer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Kyzer has posted over his last seven games.

As of now, neither Screven County nor Burke County have any future games scheduled.
