Baseball Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

Jacobs lost to Cary-Grove on Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 10-8. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly two runs.

Andrew Deegan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Jacobs and nudges their season record down to 18-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Cary-Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Jacobs will square off against Bartlett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cary-Grove, they will challenge Hersey at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
