It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lanier Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Victory Baptist Warrior 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lightning have posted since February 24, 2024.

Gavin Strabala made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Strabala was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Strabala wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Earl Adamson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Adamson snagged this season.

The win made it two in a row for Lanier Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Victory Baptist, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Lanier Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Lakeview Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Victory Baptist, they will host Hearts Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hearts Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
