Basketball Recap: Peninsula's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Peninsula unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 49-39 to the Corona Panthers.

Corona found their leader in freshman Alex Flores, who posted 20 points and three steals. Flores is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Fia Liaga was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Corona, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Peninsula will head out to face off against Torrance at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Corona, they will welcome Palm Desert at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
