Preview: Cameron County Raiders vs. Otto-Eldred Terrors

Cameron County is 1-9 against Otto-Eldred since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cameron County Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Otto-Eldred Terrors at 7:00 p.m. Cameron County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Cameron County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 58-12 victory over Galeton at home. That looming 58-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cameron County yet this season.

Cameron County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elsie Bresslin led the charge by scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cloe Farren, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Otto-Eldred strolled past Oswayo Valley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 32-18. The win made it back-to-back wins for Otto-Eldred.

Otto-Eldred's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayla Van Scoter, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carrie Drummond, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Cameron County's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Otto-Eldred, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Cameron County have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Otto-Eldred struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 29.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Cameron County came up short against Otto-Eldred when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 41-29. Can Cameron County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
