Football Recap: Jefferson Forest Skates Past Mount Airy with Ease + How To Watch

Jefferson Forest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Mount Airy Granite Bears 42-7. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cavaliers just coasted through the last quarter.

Jefferson Forest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Jackson, who threw for 109 yards and two TDs on perfect 7-for-7 passing, and also rushed for 33 yards and one score. Those 33 rushing yards gave Jackson a new career-high. Xander Coleman was Jackson's top target, picking up eight receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jefferson Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 277 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Jefferson Forest's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mount Airy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Jefferson Forest and Mount Airy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings.
