Basketball Recap: Waxahachie Find Success

Waxahachie posted their closest victory since November 16, 2024 on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 77-76 photo finish over the Carter Cowboys. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waxahachie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brockston 'Brock' Moore, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 20 points. Thanks to that strong game, Moore now owns an excellent 51.9% field goal percentage. Michael Gatewood was another key player, going 10-for-22 to rack up 25 points along with five assists and four steals.

The win got Waxahachie back to even at 2-2. As for Carter, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Waxahachie will be taking part in a tournament against Southwest at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockwall-Heath at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
