Soccer Recap: Gatewood Takes a Loss

Gatewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 6-2 to the Piedmont Academy Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Piedmont Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 two weeks ago.

Charlie Randolph and Grayson Larimore scored both of Gatewood's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Gatewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Piedmont Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gatewood will face off against Monsignor Donovan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Piedmont Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on First Presbyterian Day at 7:30 p.m. on April 10.
