Basketball Recap: Golden Sierra Find Success

Foresthill came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Golden Sierra, but Zofia Bradford wouldn't allow it. The Golden Sierra Grizzlies snuck past the Foresthill Wildfires with a 34-30 win on Thursday thanks in part to Bradford, who posted nine points along with eight boards and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Golden Sierra's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when she doesn't).

Scarlet Harvey was another key player, putting up six points along with nine boards and five steals. Harvey is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Foresthill still got an impressive performance from Amy Saxelby, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most points Saxelby has posted since back in January.

The victory got Golden Sierra back to even at 4-4. As for Foresthill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Golden Sierra will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Valley at 12:30 p.m. on December 30th. Golden Sierra is facing Valley at the right time seeing as Valley is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Foresthill will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Weston Ranch at 2:30 p.m. on December 30th.
