Basketball Recap: King City's Losing Streak Snapped at 11 Games

King City had lost 11 straight headed into Saturday's game, but Amity Hearne didn't let it get to 12. The King City Mustangs ended the year with a bang, routing the North Salinas Vikings 46-25 on Saturday thanks in part to Hearne, who posted six points and eight rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.

Raylie Moore was another key player, putting up six points. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

King City's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for North Salinas, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King City will host St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for North Salinas, they will face off against Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
