Soccer Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 7-0 to the Anamosa Raiders. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Anamosa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Monticello will square off against rival Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Anamosa is set to face off against their familiar foe West Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
