Basketball Recap: West Branch Warriors vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, the West Branch Warriors were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-19 victory over Ferndale.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maisen Sechrengost, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Sechrengost has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deajah Chatman, who scored nine points.
West Branch's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Ferndale, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
West Branch will challenge the Golden Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Curwensville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Ferndale, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Colts at 7:15 p.m.
