Softball Recap: Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS Takes a Loss

Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 10-5 to the Humboldt Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Humboldt this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 last Monday.

Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS' defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Humboldt, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-14.

Looking ahead, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS will square off against Eagle Grove on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Humboldt, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-4 victory against Mason City on the 8th.
