Soccer Game Preview: De Anza vs. Richmond

De Anza is on a four-game streak of home losses, Richmond a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The De Anza Dons will host the Richmond Oilers at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for De Anza's offense. They came up short against El Cerrito on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 887th, while the Gauchos are ranked 349th).

Meanwhile, Richmond also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 2-0 to Antioch on Monday.

De Anza's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

De Anza beat Richmond 3-1 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Does De Anza have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richmond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
