Basketball Recap: Pottstown Takes a Loss

Pottstown lost against Pope John Paul II back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pottstown Trojans took a blow against Pope John Paul II, falling 62-26. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Pope John Paul II are ranked 224th).

Despite the loss, Pottstown still got an impressive performance from Jayanna Hill, who posted 19 points.

Pottstown has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Pope John Paul II, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Pottstown has already played their next game, a 45-42 win against Norristown on the 27th. As for Pope John Paul II, they will square off against Pottsgrove at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
